Visa regimes for Montenegro

Welcome to Montenegro by seaIf you are visiting Montenegro and you are not sure if you need a valid visa to enter and to stay, please check the list below. The Government of Montenegro has adopted the visa regime at the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and in accordance with the Law on Foreigners, on the basis of which it adopted the Decree on the Visa Regime (Official Gazette of Montenegro 18/2009, 61/11, 24/14, 30/14,10/15 and 19/15).

States whose citizens may enter Montenegro visa free with a valid passport

For nationals of states not listed above if holders of passports hold a valid Schengen Visa, or a valid visa of the United States of America, or the  United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or Ireland, or a residence permit for those countries, may enter Montenegro, stay in Montenegro, or cross its territory for up to 30 days.

Holders of travel documents issued by the Organisation of the United Nations or its specialized agencies (Laissez-Passer) may enter the country, cross the territory, and reside in Montenegro up to 90 days without a visa.

To enter Montenegro border by sea or to clear out please precede to Port of Bar, Port of Kotor and Port of Zelenika which are opened all year round. Additional Ports of Entry, Marina Budva and Porto Montenegro Tivat are welcoming you for for clearing in or clearing out Montenegro waters form May to October.
